A Relationship With Anxiety

Your heart is pounding in your throat, your breath is getting shorter, and your voice trembling, oh gosh, anxiety has resurfaced out of nowhere.  You thought you had overcome this. You are doing all the right things:  meditating, exercising, drinking less caffeine, etc.  With all of this, you should be invincible right? Well, that isn't quite the case.

However, if you pay close attention, you will see that you have a different relationship with your anxiety.  In the past, you may have dwelled on it and talked down to yourself for feeling this way.  This time, while this unwanted stressful feeling was present, you were able to relate to it differently.  While frustrating and painful at the moment, you let it pass; you got through it, you moved on, easily re-centered, and gained your focus back.   Rather than fighting through the obstacle and bathing in negative self-talk, you danced with anxiety, got back on rhythm, and overcame the situation with grace.  That my friends are the benefits of meditating and taking care of yourself.
